“Concord Floral” follows the story of a group of teenagers, a giant abandoned greenhouse in a large field, and the terrible secret it houses. This coming-of-age narrative manages to develop and reveal believable characters that make you feel both nostalgic and young again. “Concord Floral” decides that a bird (a bobolick), a couch, a fox, and even the greenhouse deserve to have some sort of exposition … and it works fantastically. The writing is tight, emotional, and lighthearted and endearing at just the right moments. The acting is enthusiastic, and the performers stay on top of everything, making great use of the human body to give depth to an otherwise empty stage. The stage production is no different. Each cue is perfectly timed, the lighting excellently displays the mood, and the music enhances every feeling. I didn’t know so many different things could give me goosebumps.
